A charity is set to launch its new centre in Newtown with an open afternoon where residents can find out about the vital work it does in the area.
Severn Hospice will welcome visitors to its new community hub, on the site of the former tourist information office in Back Lane between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesday, 12 October.
Clinical staff and volunteers who make up the local specialist palliative care team will be on hand to talk to members of the public about the work they do in Newtown and the surrounding area caring for patients with incurable illnesses.
Dr Claire Stockdale, a Severn Hospice Consultant working in Newtown, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the people of Newtown to their dedicated Severn Hospice site. Severn Hospice in Newtown had previously worked out of the local hospital, but now we are really pleased to announce that we have our own new home in the community.
“We hope local residents will join us at our new hospice building located in the centre of Newtown and we are looking forward to meeting the people we are here to help.”
