Find out about adult learning

You can find out everything that’s happening in adult learning at a Festival of Learning and Open Day on Tuesday May 31.

The Open Day and Festival is being staged by Siawns Teg/Fair Chance at their new headquarters in the former Radio Maldwyn Studios and in The Park between 11am and 4pm.

Siawns Teg is a social inclusion charity that works in the community of Powys to break down the problems and issues surrounding unemployment, personal learning opportunities and health.

Siawns Teg has a highly motivated and experienced team of trainers and mentors and is connected to a number of other local support groups with similar ideals,  well known locally and internationally for innovative and effective ways of engaging people in their own destiny and opportunity.

The organisation’s mission is to improve opportunities for anyone who is, or believes they are, excluded from work, social inclusion, and community worth.  The group works to help clients to be active and valued community members and better placed to access social interactions and work.  

This is achieved through the provision of social and pre-work learning, cultural awareness initiatives, community valued activities, and the promotion of equality for all agendas.

The organisation has received a Lottery For All grant along with funding from the Learning & Work Institute Foundation Fund to promote the Festival of Learning.

Other local organisations will be joining on the day and there will be arts, crafts and music.
