Magazine date for librarian Kate

With a name like hers it’s little wonder that Newtown librarian Kate Middleton has been getting plenty of attention.

And now the 30 year old is about to appear in Cosmopolitan magazine to mark Prince Williams and the other Kate’s big day.

Kate, 30, is one of several Kate Middletons who will be featured in March’s edition of the magazine, to mark the Royal Wedding day.

She was born with the name and shares her life with her partner Rob Corson and their two-year-old daughter, Francesca. Kate said her name became an issue when the Royal pair first met.

“I’ve had comments about being ‘Kate Middleton’ ever since she and Wills started dating. I gave blood a few weeks ago and the nurse couldn’t wait to tell people she’d taken Kate Middleton’s blood,” she said.

“It all died down a bit because they have been together so long and then when they announced their engagement it all came up again.

“Cosmopolitan got in touch and then a news agency and other journalists but locally people have not bothered about it much,” she added. “I don’t know what it will be like on the wedding day.”

Kate was one of seven or eight Kate Middletons from across the country contacted by Cosmopolitan to take part in a photo shoot.

Just before Christmas she went to London, stayed overnight in a hotel, was picked up in a car and was taken to a studio in Camden where hair and make up artists waited, along with a stylist and seamstress.

“They had made a dress for each of us similar to the dress Kate wore for her engagement and they had a ring for each of us and they had a Prince William lookalike and we were all photographed with him.

“It was quite surreal to be in a room with seven or eight people with the same name as you.

“It was a nice experience, I don’t suppose I will ever do anything like it again and they let us keep the rings as a souvenir of the day.”

The March issue of Cosmopolitan goes on sale from Monday, February 7.
