Matthew Williams of Morris, Marshall and Poole estate and land agents has successfully qualified as a chartered surveyor.

Matthew, who works at the estate and land agent’s rural department in Newtown, as well as being an auctioneer at Welshpool Livestock Sales, successfully completed his professional qualifications to become a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Matthew has been responsible for the letting of land for grazing, farm business tenancies and involvement in compensation claims for bypass, pipeline and Railtrack alterations.

“We’re very pleased to congratulate Matthew for qualifying and becoming a member of the RICS,” said Tony Evans, a partner at MMP.

“He is part of a team working on a wide range of rural and agricultural work and has recently been involved in providing advice to farmers on the extensive changes to the basic payment scheme and helping clients in the preparation of claims for this and other agricultural schemes.”

Matthew is also well-known for his weekly auctioneering at Welshpool Livestock Sales, of which MMP is a partner, where he is responsible for the sale of store lambs every Monday.

He has been instrumental in the establishment of the new evening sales of store lambs at the market and works with colleagues at MMP’s offices at Llanidloes, Newtown, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, Tywyn, Oswestry and Welshpool.
