Sam Evans who works for a Newtown based care provider Abacare has reached the finals of the National Care Awards.

He has already been through the judging process in his category and will attend an award ceremony on November 27.

Sam, who was nominated for the Care Operations Manager award, said: “To have reached the finals in another prestigious award is amazing. I am extremely thankful to Abacare for seeing the potential in me and for believing in me enough to put me forwards for these awards. Just to be nominated is an honour.”

Sam joined Abacare in 2014 and used his skills in adult services and challenging behaviours to assist Abacare in handling the largest transition of adult services in the county’s history when it took on the contract for Powys Council in spring 2014.

The National Care Awards celebrates the very best people in the long-term care sector. The awards ceremony, which is the organisation’s 17th, will take place on November 27 at the Hilton London Metropole.

Abacare operates a professional Care Management Team that is committed to providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes.

The large team of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive based outcomes and person centred care to people throughout the UK.

Peter Angelides, CEO at Abacare, said: “Myself and the rest of the Abacare team would like to wish Sam the very best of luck at the award ceremony. He has worked extremely hard and always goes above and beyond for us. He’s definitely a winner in our eyes.”
