Newtown businesses among finalists of top awards

A number of Newtown companies will be among some of the area’s best at the annual Powys Business Awards being held in the town this Friday.

Tickets for the event sold out within 48 hours and 220 guests will be at Newtown’s Hafren on Friday to see who has won what award.

The awards, sponsored by Powys County Council, celebrate excellence in business in the county and bring recognition in the local and regional business communities.

The host of this year’s awards is broadcaster and wildlife expert Iolo Williams. Best known as a nature observer and television presenter, Iolo has presented wildlife and open air programmes in English and Welsh on BBC and S4C.

Winners of each of the categories will be announced on the evening including the Judges Special Award and Business of the Year.
