The success of the Local Loyalty Powys scheme in Newtown has encouraged its founder to continue its rapid expansion into Radnorshire.
The discount card, which encourages local shoppers to spend money in local businesses, has been launched in Builth Wells this month with Rhayader and other Radnorshire towns set to come on line.
And it was the warm reception that it received in Newtown that sparked its first venture outside of Montgomeryshire.
“Montgomeryshire has provided a great start to Local Loyalty Powys and it was particularly pleasing to see how well it has gone down in Newtown,” said founder, Rachel Hitchcock.
“We have already signed up 13 businesses who are offering great discounts and special offers to hundreds of Newtown residents that have picked up a card. In total, over 60 businesses are on board along with 1,800 card holders. I expect to have more than 2,000 before Christmas.”
Rachel says the range of Newtown businesses that have signed up is impressive, with the latest – Alaven Leather – stocking the sought after Yoshi satchels which have become an international fashion phenomenon.
