Newtown's state-of-the-art entertainment centre is set to get even better!

The Hafren has been attracting some of Britain’s leading talent as well as providing a diverse range of entertainment for three decades, but its new venture will take it to a new level.

A £7 million project is going into the development phase and incorporates additional studio space, larger customer circulation areas which will give greater access to the bar and refreshment sales and also link into the Coleg Powys restaurant called Themes. There are also plans for a Community Music facility which will give access to top quality sound recording and rehearsal/teaching rooms.

“We are currently waiting to hear from the Arts Council of Wales regarding the application which we hope will extend and develop the facilities in conjunction with Powys County Council and Coleg Powys,” said Sara Clutton, Director.

The Hafren has got stuck into its impressive autumn programme which has already seen comedian Al Murray and Madness singer Suggs perform, with a host of entertainment still to come.
