A local business family has helped raise £37,695 since July 2021 and £1,500 at a recent event after hosting two open days.

Two Bettws Hall Farm open days at Bettws Cedewain were supported through generous donations by visitors to the 1,200-acre farm, run by Gwyn & Ann Evans, which raised by £1,500.

The farm is home to a Stabiliser Cattle multiplier unit specialising in the fast-growing breed. The public were invited to tour the farm on two separate open days in March and April showcasing the modern facilities and farming practices used on over 320 cattle.

As well as the tour, the events were also supported by chefs from the local Bull & Heifer pub who provided homemade Stabliser cattle burgers.

In total £1,500 was received through donations from over 200 guests throughout the two events.

The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, founded in 1979 and based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, provides vital services for patients and families in the Shropshire and Mid-Wales areas dealing with cancer.

The Stabiliser Cattle Company oversee the marketing and breeding programme for Stabiliser cattle in the UK with a number of farms agreeing to become 'Multipliers'; producing recorded breeding stock for sale throughout the UK & Ireland.

Bettws Hall became a Multiplier in 2014 and the family have grown their herd to over 300 head of cattle alongside their flock of 1,000 highlander and Welsh mules.

As well as the farm, Bettws Hall is also Europe’s leading game farm and sporting estates where total donations from the 2022/23 season amassed £12,225 for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, taking their grand total since supporting the charity to £37,695.91.
