Finance Apprentice

U79 Newtown, Powys, UK

Overview:

This role will cover a wide range of duties supporting the Operations Finance team in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accountancy functions and transactions, whilst undertaking a formal qualification, alongside day-to-day administration.
This role would be an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to start a career in Finance and Accounting or to gain experience within a finance department. Full training will be given in this role.  

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:

Transactions Processing

Manage allocated supplier accounts by accurately processing and requesting approval of invoices before payment is due and in accordance with the DOA

Ensure supplier balances are reconciled to the ledger on a regular basis and action required maintenance

Ensure that all customer payments are allocated accurately to the AR ledger on a timely basis

Ensure all Supplier payments made conform to the bank mandate, are correct and conform to terms

Financial Reporting

Balance Sheet Reconciliations of Cash and Bank accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Ledgers

Preparation of journals and analysis to support the monthly reporting process

Statutory Reporting

Assist with the completion of VAT and Intrastat for Romania & UK Operations

Support any Audit requests pertaining to above

Ensure statutory compliance with all the above

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

GCSE level education including English and Maths (grade C or above)

Problem solving and issue recognition along with excellent attention to detail

Team player with excellent work ethic.
