BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson officially opened NFU Cymru’s new office in Newtown with high praise for the organisation’s professionalism.

“The farming industry is on the crest of a wave and well positioned for the exciting times ahead of us. Our professionalism has come a long way. It’s about building confidence with the customer,” Adam Henson said as he unveiled a commemorative slate plaque made locally in Llanbrynmair.

Echoing the TV personality’s theme, Aled Griffiths, NFU Cymru’s Senior Group Secretary in Newtown, said: “The move to such a light and modern building allows us to offer the best possible service to farmers and clients.”

Mary James, Director of NFU Cymru, praised the local staff: “We have a high calibre of staff in Newtown who have provided great help to farmers with issues such as recently helping them complete their single farm application forms. Indeed, we are in the premier league here and NFU Cymru together with the NFU Mutual provide unrivalled service to local members.”
